Look, everyone knows and loves the old classics – “Merry Christmas,” “Joy to the World,” “‘Tis the Season to be Freezin’,” etc., etc..

Hey, we love them, too! Our house is peppered with those expressions, both on the walls and on pillows.

But wouldn’t you like to hang something new this year? Something no one else has?

Yep, I knew you would!

As I mentioned in our Scandinavian Christmas Printables post, we’ve noticed the whole Nordic/Scandinavian thing going on this year.

[Fun Fact: “Scandinavian” refers to Denmark, Norway and Sweden, while “Nordic” refers to the Scandinavian countries plus Finland and Iceland.]

We love the simplicity and basic colors of the Scandinavian Christmas decor – it speaks to a simpler time that so many of us yearn for.

So Handan kept digging around for more ideas in the spirit of Scandinavia until she came across designs that looked like some sort of Nordic barn quilt mashup.

She thought that this type of design, along with the farmhousey colors, would make awesome Christmas printables.

They’d certainly be different from all the other printables out there!

I love these barn quilt Christmas printables, and I can’t wait to toss ’em up on the walls, but what do you think of them?

Will you be printing and hanging them, or are you more of a “Frosty-4-Ever” kinda girl?

Let us know in the comments, and Handan and I hope you’re enjoying the Free Christmas Printable-Palooza!

Barn Quilt Christmas Printables

Today’s free Barn Quilt Christmas printables are designed to fit 8.5×11 and 16×20 inch frames. The 8.5×11 inch sized printables are PDFs, so they are not scalable. But the 16×20 inch printables are JPEGs, so you can scale them down to 12×15 / 8×10 / 4×5 inches with no problems. If you need help with scaling down these printables so you can print them using your home printer, then make sure you check out Handan’s “How To Easily Resize Pictures” post.

Note:  If you don’t have a large format printer like the Canon i8720 Printer (prints up to 13×19 inches) and are wondering the best place to get these large printables printed bigger than 8×12, we recommend trying Staples in your area or Amazon print shop. Both stores offer custom-sized prints on matte or glossy paper, and they both cost about the same. Staples also offers Engineering Prints, which are really affordable for large-format prints, but in some areas (like ours), they must be ordered from their online print shop.

Now it’s time to click on the button below to download today’s free Barn Quilt Christmas printables – you can find them all in the Christmas section of The VIP Patch.

  1. Ooo, these would make the most adorable mini wool appliqué wall hanging quilts!!! Can’t wait to try that out!

  2. Well, guys … I checked out Handan’s instructions for resizing prints, but I have a teeny-tiny problem. I have an Apple computer … and don’t have Windows! *tears welling up* There are a couple of “Patents” and “Red Buffalo Plaid” things I’d like to print, but they are 16×20 and I can only print 8 1⁄2 x 11 on my Mac! *sobbing quietly* Is there any hope for me? *sniff*

    1. Hi Lynnie, here at The Navage Patch there is always hope! 😀 Please let Greg know which exact designs / patent sets (including the info on the color) and I’ll resize them for you. I’ll upload those 8.5x11s as PDFs to the 16×20 folders of the respective designs by this weekend. I hope this helps! 🙂

  3. Hi Handan and Greg,
I had planned to cancel Christmas this year as I was widowed in Feb (not only my
husband but my best friend and only living relative) and am undergoing chemo.
However, I can’t completely dismiss it now that I’ve seen Handan’s gorgeous winter
    prints – thank you.
The quilt ones have inspired me to more than decorating my walls though. I do pottery
at Adult Education and I’ve recently started making mugs with an applique style using
porcelain clay. I plan to try this with at least one of these lovely prints.

    1. Lucy, I’m so glad you decided not to cancel Christmas, because Christmas is hope and it is believing that magical things can happen in life! We wish you a merry Christmas and hope that you can find peace and joy after such a difficult year.

    2. Hi Lucy, there are times when our blogwork seems overwhelming and we privately wonder if it is worth all the time and effort we put into it. But then we get a comment like yours, and we read your story, and it brings tears to our eyes, and we know it so, so worth it. I’m so sorry for your loss, and I can’t imagine how hard it is to deal with the loss of a loved one and the pain of chemo all in the same year. I just pray that you can look within yourself and find light and hope and some small bit of happiness that you can grasp on to. Handan and I send you love and wish you contentment and peace this Christmas season.

  4. Oh, Great God Jul !!
You’ve done it A-gain ! Just when this Bestemor (Grandmother) thought she was finished or nearly so, with Christmas crafting, the two of you elves show up with another winner ! This is a perfect mashup of quilt block/Scandinavian style. Yeah, gee thanks, for helping dwindle the heaps of picture frames here, Lol . Seriously, these are really pretty ,hmmmmm, may just try printing them out on transfer paper for an equally big stash of Hopsack material. Such a fresh approach.
    Thanks again for sharing !

  5. Take two…Love these cute printables and I see a future for them in my home! Little story: last year we had a Danish themed Christmas since all 5 of our children (we have a blended family) have Danish ancestry. We learned alot about food, customs, ancestors, and hygge! I used three of your red and white Scandinavian printables to decorate my wall and they are up again this year! One project that was planned but not executed last year was to make 6-sided puzzles from wooden blocks. This year for sure using your delicious printables! My husband’s uncle made our prototype using wrapping paper but your prints will be a major upgrade and I look forward to purusing the Christmas prints. Thanks for great content and I will commenting more going forward. Best wishes for a lovely holiday season and new year!

    1. Hi Angie, thank you for the comment, and thank you for your persistence. I think I finally fixed the issue, so all should work smoothly from here on out! Merry Christmas to you and your family!

  6. I LOVE these! I was in Norway a year ago today and was feeling nostalgic for all the beauty there – this is perfect! Can’t wait to hang them up next to my nisses and Norwegian ornaments! Thanks for making my day. 🙂
