Fun and Stylish Christmas Gift Wrapping Ideas
To make these simple gift bags, I started by cutting my wrapping paper to the size I wanted.
Then I folded both sides to meet and overlap in the middle. I cut some double-sided tape and taped the seam. You can also use normal tape to tape the seam. But I think double-sided tape makes the whole thing look better.
Next, I folded the bottom and flattened the corners to create a somewhat diamond shape, as can be seen in the pictures below. Then I folded the top and bottom lips to meet and overlap in the middle.
Then I taped the seam with double-sided tape. With the bottom of the gift bag secured, I opened the bag and put the gifts in.
Then I folded the top twice, punched 2 holes through the top to thread some ribbon or twine, and that was it!

Ok, so far we have covered most of the styles, but not the modern, fancy-schmancy gift wrapping ideas. We won’t need glitter, but let’s bring some confetti to the party, shall we?
This one is so very easy! I know it may seem a bit messy, but don’t worry about the mess, because the second gift wrapping idea will clear most of the mess away (if not all)… really!
I cut some double-sided tape and stuck it on the corners of my gift wrap. Then I poured some confetti on the tape and brushed off the excess.
Then I repeated the same steps to make a middle starry confetti line and as the final touch I hot glued 3 small red jingle bells.
Looks lovely doesn’t it? I bet you’re wondering how I’ll make that confetti mess go away. Well here it is: I put a sheet of cellophane wrap underneath the surface I used the confetti on and I swiped all the confetti onto that cellophane wrap.
Next, I wrapped my gift with a solid color wrapping paper and placed it on the confetti-covered cellophane. I then wrapped the gift with that cellophane wrap leaving the confetti in between the two wrappers.
The best thing about this gift wrap is that when someone shakes the gift box, all the confetti shakes together with it. đŸ˜‰

I think my fave is the cellophane/confetti one. How ingenuous! I’ve only got red cellophane, but I’m willing to give it a go. (Happily the gifts will be unwrapped at my sister’s house, because, of course, I’m envisioning the confetti going EVERYWHERE when it’s unwrapped!)

Wow! These were awesome ideas. Mine tend to be so much more practical; this year I started wrapping cut down cereal boxes in Christmas paper and adding ribbon handles for a “gift bag.” I also make a lot of reusable cloth gift bags and use pretty tins as it is a bit “greener” than filling the woodstove with wrapping paper 4 times (Our previous definition of a good Christmas!!!!).
