Greg’s Blue Cheese Dressing
This is my go-to blue cheese dressing recipe. It’s quick, easy, and it’s the perfect companion for my Dirty Buffalo Wings!
Blue cheese dressing is one of the most versatile dips/dressings out there. It is the perfect accompaniment for salads, crudités, burgers, steaks and of course, buffalo wings.
I developed this thick and creamy blue cheese recipe over the years by throwing together some ingredients while cooking my Dirty Buffalo Wings. If you’d like it a little thinner, say for pouring over a salad, just add buttermilk until you reach your desired consistency.
There’s no need for fancy blue cheese. I use either a block of inexpensive Castello Danish blue cheese which I crumble myself, or if I can’t find that, I’ll just buy the store-brand pre-crumbled blue cheese. But hey, if you’re feeling saucy, go ahead and use some fancy blue cheese!
A note about sour cream – I’ve tried them all, and Breakstone’s is head and shoulders above the rest. If your store carries it, please get it.
A note about mayonnaise – It’s Hellmann’s/Best Foods or it’s nothing. You simply cannot make this with Miracle Whip, nor would I suggest any other mayo. Yes, I’m a mayonnaise snob, what of it?

Sounds yummy! I do a similar base for a homemade ranch, but add parsley, a little mint and cilantro. Do you get Turkish Labneh in GA? The big green containers of Turkish Labneh is probably one of my favorite things on earth! It makes excellent dips and salad dressings! Also great in mashed potatoes!
Hi Tammy, there are some Middle Eastern/Persian/Turkish markets around (though we haven’t found a pure Turkish one yet), and they sell labneh, but usually I make it myself! So easy with an Instant Pot to make yogurt, and then you just add some salt and strain it until it becomes labneh!
