Holiday Gift Guide for Makers
WooHoo! Holiday Season has officially begun!
Okay, look, yesterday we shared with you our Cricut Gift Guide for the Holidays, because their prices are insane this year! But while we were putting together that guide, we kept wanting to add more and more non-Cricut stuff to really make it a Gift Guide for Makers. We decided to keep yesterday’s post entirely about Cricut, but give you another post today for Making in general.
This year, the sales are better than we’ve ever seen. I guess it’s our early Christmas gift for suffering through almost a year of Covid?
Whatever the reason, sit back, massage your mouse-hand and get ready to click your way to Crafting Nirvana! We’ll kick things off with some of our Cricut selections from yesterday, and then we’ll branch out from there.
Happy Shopping!

Handan’s been yapping about this apron for months. I think it’s high time I got it for her. But why do I get the feeling she’ll make me wear it in all our photos?? I told her I’m Farmhouse enough as is. I don’t need no stinking apron!

It’s like cooking and crafting all in one! Makes a great gift, even if the recipient is you!

We’ve gotten so many requests for embroidery files along with our SVGs, that I’m seriously considering learning it. Can you imagine the fun I’ll have ridiculing myself if it ever comes to that?? đŸ˜†

Fun fact about Handan: she’s a bath nut. If I could just move her laptop and a pillow into the bathroom, she’d never need to leave. I’ve already ordered this so I can make these little bath bombs for her. May as well have some fun with it, eh?

Handan bought this for me last month, and it it awesome! I’ll be working on my skills this winter, and we’ll be sharing some wood burning projects with you.

With all these Maker Kits, you’ll need a place to keep all your new goodies! A wheeled cart is just the thing for easy access and easy storage!

We can’t speak highly enough of our Canon Pixma I8720. We love decorating with our free printables, so we’re always keeping an eye out for good and affordable printers, but nothing has ever beaten our Canon Pixma I8720. It’s still is the most affordable and best-quality 13×19 printer out there. If you’re in the market for a decent large-format laser-jet printer, look no further – this is the printer for you!
The Best Large Format Printer (up to 13×19 size paper)

I’m so sick of crappy hot glue guns. I’ve gone through at least a half dozen, large and small, in the past year, and they’ve all melted the glue internally and fused into an unusable mess. Last month I branched out and tried Gorilla’s entry in the crowded hot glue gun market, and so far I have no complaints. It’s well-made and balanced, and so far, it seems like it’s going to keep working! It’s a few bucks more than the cheap Chinese ones that have flooded Amazon, but I think it’s worth the money.

Can’t have one without the other!

No point in pretending otherwise. Makers Gonna Make!
Happy making everyone and Merry Christmas!
Do a deeper dive into that apron for Handan. It really interested me so I checked it out. Lots of not-so-positive thoughts expressed on it. There are multiple different brands on Amazon so I am now looking into each of them to figure out what will work best for me. Great idea Greg and Handan – something I didn’t know I “needed” lol. I just searched my pattern stash and found one that is similar – so I want the instant gratification of Amazon or the customized but more work version by making it myself???
Thank you, Chris! She specifically wanted something cheap, so she wouldn’t feel bad when she mucked it up with paint and other crap! We’ll see how it performs! đŸ™‚
I think an apron is gonna cut down on ruining “good” clothes when you are crafting/cooking. Unless you are faithful about donning “work” clothes before you start; I know I’m not–I never PLAN to make a mess, right? You might find that you really enjoy embroidery–I do. NOT the exactness of counted cross stitch, but the outline, lazy daisy, and French knots are very relaxing to me.
I agree, and I also never plan to make a mess, lol! I think Handan used to be a cross-stitch master, back in the days before we met. Doesn’t surprise me it is the most methodical! đŸ™‚
