Our free cozy Christmas sweater printables are always the perfect fit, they won’t make you too hot, and they’re easy on the eyes!
Yes, you read that right.
No, we haven’t lost our marbles.
Of course, when Handan told me she was making Christmas sweater printables, all I could think of was some sort of yarn-gobbling knitting machine that spits out bad sweater fronts.
Did we have such a machine? More importantly, do our readers have such machines?
I know there are magical items called “embroidery machines.” Perhaps she was making a new style of printable for them?
I decided it was unlikely, especially considering we’re hunkered down in an apartment, and I’d surely know if a new machine tried to slip unnoticed into my craft room.
So what then? Was she going to find photographs of hideous Christmas sweaters and make watercolors from them? The thought had a certain Jackson Pollock appeal, I supposed, but after decades of roundly mocking the Christmas sweater, was the American public ready to hang them on their walls?
Ugly Christmas sweater parties have become the norm for office and social gatherings in December, so why would anyone want to bring the joke home for display?
It dawned on me then that my babes had only said “Christmas sweater printables,” not “ugly Christmas sweater printables.”
But weren’t they one and the same?
If one speaks the phrase, “Christmas sweater,” isn’t it presumed there’s a silent “ugly” at the beginning, like the silent “p” of pterodactyl or the silent “g” of gnome?
I was at a loss as to what she was truly up to with her kooky notion of Christmas sweater printables, so I sat down next to her and had a look at her computer.
Then I saw. And I understood.
My babes was building patterns into printables that looked like sweaters!
As far as I can tell, these are the first Christmas sweater printables ever, with or without the silent “ugly.” Because, yes, there actually are “ugly Christmas sweater” printables out there, but as you might imagine, they’re all part of the big joke.
So without further ado, let’s get to the free Christmas sweater printables!
Free Christmas Sweater Printables
We designed these free vintage Christmas sweater printables in two sizes: 11×14 inch, and 16×20 inch JPGs. As all our JPG files are high resolution, you can scale them up or down as necessary. 16×20 inch scales down to 12×15 / 8×10 / 4×5 inches with no problems. If you need help with scaling down these printables so you can print them on your home printer, then make sure you check out Handan’s “How To Easily Resize Pictures” post.
Also, if you don’t have a large format printer like the Canon i8720 Printer (prints up to 13×19 inches) and are wondering the best place to get these large printables printed bigger than 8×12, we recommend trying Staples in your area or Amazon print shop. Both stores offer custom-sized prints on matte or glossy paper, and they both cost about the same. Staples also offers Engineering Prints, which are really affordable for large-format prints, but in some areas (like ours), they must be ordered from their online print shop.
